Contract Bridge is a card game for four players. Each player acts in partnership with the player directly across the table, and against the players to the right and left. The players take turns for every action in the game. You play bridge with a standard deck of fifty-two cards. The deck is divided into
four suits. The suits are ranked, from the top, Spades

, Hearts

, Diamonds

, and Clubs

. Each suit has thirteen cards which are ranked, from the top, Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. The top five cards in each suit are sometimes referred to as
honors.
Contract Bridge is unique among games, not only for its allure, but for its high ethical requirements. Once you learn to play bridge, games such as Poker and Blackjack have only the raw appeal of winning. Bridge is delightful to play even when you don't win. It brings out character in ways that emulate life in the real world.
Unlike in other games, it is improper to deliberately violate the Laws of Contract Bridge, even if you are willing to play the penalty. Contract Bridge is a game for ladies and gentlemen, and all persons of good character.
